Staff Highlights – Fall 2018

To support the continued growth of our practice, we are pleased to announce the following additions to our professional staff:

• Sarah Dauerman, senior audit accountant, graduated from Ohio University and spent the past three years at a Columbus-based regional firm where she served on the A&A Effectiveness Committee and was the firm’s liaison for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio.
• Tyler Chaplin, CPA, MTax, tax supervisor, brings more than 12 years of experience working at a regional and a start-up firm and has significant working knowledge of corporate and individual tax clients, as well as consulting with small business clients and high net worth individuals. Tyler graduated from The University of Akron in 2010, where he returned in 2013 to complete his Master’s in Taxation.

Jim Merklin presented to over 231 attendees (audience & virtual) at the annual OSCPA EBP Audit Conference in Columbus.

Keith Libman was appointed by County Executive Armond Budish to the Cuyahoga County Audit Committee.

On June 14-15, BMF hosted 19 rising sophomore and junior accounting students across seven colleges and universities for our 3rd Annual Summer Leadership Program. This two-day program consisted of a Goose Chase scavenger hunt across Akron, CliftonStrengths assessment and workshop, teambuilding exercises, and an analysis of a fraud case where students presented their findings.
