New Associates

We are excited to announce and welcome the following additions to our professional staff.

  • Haven Farson join us as a staff accountant in our tax department. She completed an extended internship with us last year and recently graduated from Ashland University. Outside of work, Haven loves cheering on The Ohio State University, attending country concerts and playing on the BMF volleyball team. We’re excited to welcome her back, full-time and as one of our #teamBMF volleyball players! Welcome back, Haven!
  • Alan McManus joins us as a manager in our audit department. Alan brings over nine years of public accounting experience from a regional Ohio CPA firm. Alan resides in Mayfield Heights with his wife and two pups, Tony and Roo. Alan enjoys traveling and cheering on the Cavs in his free time, especially if he can attend a game in person. Welcome, Alan!
  • Amanda Saylor joins us as a supervisor in our audit department. She has spent more than 17 years in public accounting working in audit at a national CPA firm. Amanda lives in Medina with her husband and three children, who all love to travel and ski together. She enjoys all things sports and coaches her daughter and oldest son in basketball and her youngest son in soccer. Welcome, Amanda!

Staff & Community Updates

Help isn’t only defined in a business context. We encourage our teams to invest in our communities, each other and ourselves. Here are some ways we’re enhancing our efforts to support our local charities by continuing our roles as nonprofit agency leaders and investing in our individual growth and development.

  • Kristian Barr has joined the Cleveland Bridge Builders Advisory Committee, whose goal is to promote Bridge Builders and help to maintain connections among its alumni.
  • Dana Mountjoy has been appointed to the finance committee of United Way of Summit & Medina, whose mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of our community to advance the common good.
  • Rick Fedorovich was named to The Cleveland 500 by Cleveland Magazine, an annual compendium of business leaders, doers, decision-makers, idea generators and visionaries shaping Northeast Ohio.
  • Derek Kaufman has been voted in as a board member for United Way of Holmes and Wayne County, whose mission is to uplift and support community members who need assistance.
  • With burnout being one of the most pressing issues facing the global workforce, our in-house Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, Stephanie Smith, hosted a community workshop focused on strategies to help individuals manage and overcome burnout using their CliftonStrengths.
  • Jessica Tepus has been appointed treasurer for Cascade Locks Park Association, a hands-on interactive historical park and museum that takes visitors on a journey through the past, present and future in Akron.

Polar Plunge

We are so appreciative of everyone who attended, volunteered and donated to our 2024 Polar Bear Plunge campaign. Even though the air (and water) were cold, the sun was out and we had an incredible turnout, including 27 jumpers this year! Special thanks to our interns for their coordinated costumes. BMF raised $8,550 in support of the Akron Canton & Greater Cleveland Regional Foodbank. Your help made this possible, so thank you all!
