Bob Burak has transitioned to the distinguished role of “Partner Emeritus.” While stepping back from his day-to-day responsibilities, Bob remains actively engaged in leveraging his exceptional expertise in various specialties to support our clients and the firm. Bob brings a wealth of expertise and experience cultivated over his dedicated career in public accounting. With a focus on tax services, his specialties encompass a wide spectrum of tax practice management, team mentoring and client service, catering to both middle-market and Fortune 1000 clients.
Throughout his career, Bob primarily centered his efforts on the middle-market sector, collaborating with a diverse range of entities such as pass-through businesses, C corporations and private equity groups. His extensive background in tax compliance and advisory services spans various areas, including transactional advisory services for mergers and acquisitions, resolving accounting method issues related to inventory, accrual timing, and prepaid deductions, and providing international tax consulting services. This includes assisting clients in establishing foreign operations, addressing transfer pricing matters, facilitating the repatriation of earnings, and contributing to international restructuring and mobile income planning to enhance clients’ global tax efficiency.
Before joining BMF in December 2010, Bob served as the Cleveland tax practice leader and partner at Grant Thornton, LLP for 19 years. In this role, he delivered tax and advisory services to a diverse range of domestic and international clients. Bob was responsible for overseeing the tax practice for the northern Ohio, western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and western New York regions, ensuring comprehensive client support in the areas of taxation and strategic guidance.
We look forward to continuing to work alongside Bob in his new role as Partner Emeritus, as he continues to be an invaluable asset to our clients and the firm.
