    Staff, Community & Recognition Updates

Help isn’t only defined in a business context. We encourage our teams to invest in our communities, each other and ourselves. Here are some of the ways we’re enhancing our efforts to support our local charities by continuing our roles as nonprofit agency leaders and investing in our individual growth and development. In addition to these initiatives, we’re proud to recognize the achievements of our team. This Spring, we celebrated:

    • Mark Bober has been named to Forbes’ 2025 Best-In-State CPAs list, recognizing the top accounting professionals across the country. According to Forbes, the Best-In-State list highlights CPAs with impressive track records in their specialties, who have broken barriers to emerge as leaders in their fields, contributed to advancing the CPA profession, and given back to society.
    • Marie Lenarduzzi was elected to the Finance Committee of Hospice of the Western Reserve. Hospice of the Western Reserve provides palliative end-of-life care, caregiver support, and bereavement services throughout Northern Ohio. In celebration of the individual worth of each life, they strive to relieve suffering, enhance comfort, promote quality of life, foster choice in end-of-life care and support effective grieving.
    • Jeff German-Lortie has been appointed to Treasurer of the Akron Physicians Wellness Initiative. Their mission is to provide barrier-free mental health services designed specifically for physicians and advanced practice providers.

    Spring Is in the Air

As one year ended and another began, we had plenty to keep us busy! Check out what’s been keeping us connected these past couple months:

    • 2025 Business Volunteers Unlimited (BVU) Homeless Stand Down – Team members Rick Fedorovich, Arielle Clark, and Maddie Braun volunteered at the BVU Homeless Stand Down at the Cleveland Public Auditorium on April 29. This event helped provide nearly 900 individuals, many of them veterans, with essential resources. Rick also serves on the board of directors for the BVU.
    • 4/15 Celebration – We had an incredible time celebrating the end of another successful busy season at Topgolf in Akron. It was great seeing everyone come together for some laughs, friendly competition, and appreciation for all the hard work our team puts in every day.
    • 2025 Tax Squads Challenges – Over the past few months, our Tax Squads participated in various challenges and events throughout Busy Season to bring everyone together. We even concluded with our own Busy Season Award Ceremony, celebrating the winning squads and their leaders:
      • 1st Place – Steve Mazza
      • 2nd Place – James Skakun
      • 3rd Place – John Jenkins
    • 2025 BMF Scholarship Recipients – We were honored to award three incredible students with BMF scholarships at recent university celebrations. Congratulations to Hannah Malbasa from Kent State University, who we’re also excited to welcome as a tax intern next spring, Keely Shafer from John Carroll University, and Brooke Lohrke from Baldwin Wallace.
