BMF Announces 2025 Promotions

We are proud to announce the promotion of the following outstanding individuals across our Northeast Ohio team. These promotions reflect not only their hard work and dedication but also our firm’s continued commitment to professional development and excellence.

Management Position

Jonathan Abbotoy, CPA, ABV, CFE, Business Valuation & Litigation Support Services, to Senior Manager. Jonathan provides business valuation, consulting, and litigation support services to public companies, closely-held corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships across various industries. His expertise includes gift and estate tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, buy/sell agreements, shareholder disputes, breach of contract, economic damages, and family law matters.

Katie Allender, CPA, Audit & Assurance, to Senior Manager. Katie brings more than 20 years of experience, serving clients in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing and distribution, service providers, and the not-for-profit sector. She works closely with clients to gain a deep understanding of their operations to deliver practical recommendations that enhance efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and provide technical accounting guidance.

David Askew, CPA, MTax, Taxation Services, to Senior Manager. David has 13 years of public accounting experience, working with a wide range of multi-state companies, including S corporations, limited liability companies/partnerships, and C corporations. He advises individuals on tax planning and compliance, specializing in stock option compensation and integrating retirement planning strategies into their overall financial goals.

Geoffrey Jacobson, CPA, Audit & Assurance, to Senior Manager. Geoffrey provides accounting, auditing, and related services to privately held companies, with a particular specialization in employee benefit plan audits. He manages all aspects of the attest engagement, from audit planning to the issuance of financial statements, and offers guidance to engagement teams on financial consultations and other special projects.

Jacob McMichael, CPA, MSA, Audit & Assurance, to Manager. Jacob brings five years of public accounting experience, serving clients in the manufacturing and distribution, construction, and nonprofit sectors. He specializes in a wide range of audit and assurance services, including U.S. GAAP financial reporting and employee benefit plan audits. In addition, he leads BMF’s United Way campaign and is a member of the Cleveland Bridge Builders Class of 2026.

Amanda Saylor, CPA, MAcc, Audit & Assurance, to Manager. Amanda brings over 15 years of public accounting experience. She specializes in auditing and accounting services, as well as U.S. GAAP financial reporting and employee benefit plan audits, to clients across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing and distribution, construction, and nonprofit organizations.

Sarah Werner, CPA, Audit & Assurance, to Manager. Sarah provides audit, review, and compilation services to clients across a wide range of industries. Her areas of specialization include U.S. GAAP financial reporting, employee benefit plan audits, and accounting support for manufacturing and distribution, professional services, and not-for-profit organizations.
